RPGs you can actually finish on a phone

Mobile RPGs have a reputation for being endless grinds designed to keep you tapping forever. But a few of them are proper, finishable adventures with a beginning, middle, and end.

Ashen Crown Saga is my current favourite. The turn-based battles are tactical enough to keep me thinking, and generous auto-saves mean I can drop in for one fight during a break without losing progress.

The trick to enjoying an RPG on mobile is picking one built for short sessions. If a game punishes you for stopping, it's the wrong game for a phone. Look for quick saves and encounters that wrap up in a few minutes.

Don't sleep on the story either. A good mobile RPG can carry a real narrative, and reading dialogue on a train beats staring at ads. Give the writing a chance before you skip through it.
